5-Minute Quickstart
This quickstart walks through the shortest path from a fresh account to a live post.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- A valid email address
- 8 to 15 clean face photos for your first character
- One clear niche, for example fitness, beauty, gaming, or travel
- Access to at least one social platform you want to connect later
New workspaces start with a 7-day trial and 50 credits. That is enough to test character creation, a few generations, and the publishing flow.
Step 1: Create your account
Register with email and password, then confirm the legal checkboxes for terms and privacy. After registration, Influgen creates your workspace and seeds your initial credit balance automatically.

Step 2: Create your first character
Open Characters and choose Create character.
Fill in:
Name: the public-facing character nameNiche: the category the content engine and analytics will optimize aroundAppearance: age range, visual cues, styling notes, body language hintsIdentity: role, location, backstory, recurring themesPersonality: tone, confidence level, humor, boundariesStyle: visual presets, lighting preferences, composition direction
Upload a primary reference image first. Influgen extracts a face embedding as soon as the first image is attached so later generations can be scored for consistency.

Step 3: Generate your first content item
From the character detail screen, choose Generate content.
For the fastest test:
- Platform:
instagram - Type:
single - Prompt: one concrete scene with setting, outfit, mood, and camera angle
- Aspect ratio:
4:5or1:1if your UI offers it, otherwise the platform default - Quality tier: standard
Example prompt:
Editorial rooftop portrait at sunrise, ivory athleisure set, warm light, confident expression, clean luxury wellness brand aesthetic.
Influgen builds the final generation request from your prompt plus the character's appearance, identity, and face-lock inputs. Generated outputs move through the queue with statuses such as queued, generating, and ready.
Step 4: Review and approve
Open the queue and inspect:
- Face match
- Caption fit
- Brand safety
- Platform fit
If the content looks right, approve it. If not, reject or regenerate with tighter prompt guidance. You can also moderate individual media items inside a multi-image generation.

Step 5: Connect a platform
Go to Settings > Integrations and connect a social account. Instagram is the most common first setup. Influgen creates an OAuth authorization URL and stores the connection state after the callback succeeds.
Useful first connection choices:
- Instagram for image posts and reels
- TikTok for short-form video
- X for image posts and text-led distribution
- YouTube for Shorts
- Pinterest for evergreen discovery
Step 6: Publish
Once a platform is connected, open the approved content item and choose either:
- Publish now for immediate posting
- Schedule for a future time slot
Publishing creates a scheduled post record and tracks status transitions like pending, published, or failed.
Recommended next actions
After your first post, do these three things:
- Add more reference images to improve face-lock stability.
- Generate a week of content with the calendar workflow.
- Turn on caption variants so you can compare writing angles before publishing.
If something fails
The most common first-run issues are:
- No reference image uploaded: add a primary face image first
- Social auth failed: reconnect the platform and complete the callback in one browser session
- Credits ran low: buy a credit pack or lower output volume for the first batch
