Competitor Tracking

Competitor tracking helps you answer a practical question: is a character underperforming because the content is weak, or because the niche itself is slow right now?

Supported competitor platforms

The current competitor tracker supports:

  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • YouTube
  • Pinterest

What you can do

For each character, you can:

  • add competitor accounts
  • list tracked competitors
  • remove competitors
  • inspect competitor history
  • compare the character to its benchmark set
  • fetch public niche benchmarks

Plan-aware limits

Competitor limits are derived from your character allowance:

  • character limit <= 1: up to 3 competitors
  • character limit <= 3: up to 5 competitors
  • higher or unlimited character allowance: up to 10 competitors

That means more advanced plans can support a wider benchmark set.

Best practices

  • track direct content competitors, not just the biggest names in the niche
  • use one benchmark set per character, not one giant mixed list
  • review benchmark gaps monthly rather than reacting to one bad week

What "good" looks like

A useful competitor set gives you context on:

  • posting cadence
  • engagement quality
  • platform mix
  • audience response trends

The goal is not to copy competitors. The goal is to understand the performance envelope of the niche.
