Character Settings

Fine-tune your AI influencer's behavior with character settings. Control posting frequency, language, automation, and content preferences.

Accessing Character Settings​

  1. Select your character from the dashboard
  2. Click Settings in the character menu
  3. Adjust settings as needed
  4. Click Save Changes

Autopilot Mode​

Autopilot automates your entire content workflow - from generation to posting.

How Autopilot Works​

When enabled, Influgen automatically:

  1. Generates content based on your posting frequency
  2. Schedules posts at optimal times for your niche
  3. Publishes to Instagram without manual intervention
  4. Maintains a content buffer (always has posts ready)

Enabling Autopilot​

  1. Go to Character Settings
  2. Toggle Autopilot Mode to ON
  3. Set your posting frequency (see below)
  4. Ensure you have sufficient credits
  5. Connect your Instagram account (required)

Autopilot Requirements​

  • ✅ Instagram account connected
  • ✅ Sufficient credit balance (or active subscription)
  • ✅ Character has a selected face
  • ✅ Posting frequency configured

When to Use Autopilot​

Great for:

  • Consistent posting schedules
  • Hands-off content management
  • Growing accounts on auto-pilot
  • Managing multiple characters simultaneously

Not ideal for:

  • Highly curated feeds requiring manual review
  • Testing new content strategies
  • Characters still in experimental phase
  • Limited budgets (uses credits automatically)

Posting Frequency​

Control how often your character posts content.

Frequency Options​

Daily (7x per week)​

  • Best for: Rapid growth, high engagement niches
  • Content required: ~30 posts/month
  • Credit usage: High
  • Follower growth: Fastest

5x per week​

  • Best for: Consistent presence without overwhelming
  • Content required: ~20-22 posts/month
  • Credit usage: Moderate-High
  • Follower growth: Fast

3x per week​

  • Best for: Quality over quantity, budget-conscious
  • Content required: ~12-13 posts/month
  • Credit usage: Moderate
  • Follower growth: Steady

2x per week​

  • Best for: Minimal maintenance, testing
  • Content required: ~8-9 posts/month
  • Credit usage: Low
  • Follower growth: Slow

Custom Schedule​

  • Set specific days: e.g., Mon/Wed/Fri
  • Flexible timing: Morning, afternoon, evening, or exact times
  • Advanced planning: Different frequencies for different weeks

Optimal Posting Times​

Influgen automatically determines the best posting times based on:

  • Your character's niche
  • Target audience demographics
  • Instagram engagement patterns
  • Time zone considerations

You can override with custom times if desired.

Language Settings​

Choose the language for your character's content.

Supported Languages​

  • English - Global audience, largest reach
  • Spanish - Latin America, Spain
  • Portuguese - Brazil, Portugal
  • French - France, Canada, African countries
  • German - Germany, Austria, Switzerland
  • Italian - Italy
  • Japanese - Japan
  • Korean - South Korea
  • Chinese (Simplified) - Mainland China
  • Chinese (Traditional) - Taiwan, Hong Kong

Language Affects​

  • Captions - Written in selected language
  • Hashtags - Language-appropriate and region-specific
  • Content themes - Culturally relevant topics
  • Engagement style - Language-specific communication norms

Multi-Language Strategy​

You can create multiple characters in different languages to:

  • Target different geographic markets
  • Test language-specific niches
  • Build region-specific audiences
  • Partner with local brands

Content Preferences​

Caption Length​

Choose default caption length:

  • Short (50-100 characters) - Quick, punchy, great for visual-first content
  • Medium (100-200 characters) - Balanced, most versatile
  • Long (200-500 characters) - Storytelling, detailed, high engagement

Can be overridden per post during editing.

Emoji Usage​

Control emoji frequency in captions:

  • None - No emojis, professional tone
  • Minimal - 1-2 emojis per caption, subtle
  • Moderate - 3-5 emojis, friendly and engaging (recommended)
  • Heavy - 6+ emojis, playful and energetic

Hashtag Strategy​

Choose hashtag approach:

  • Conservative (5-10 hashtags) - Clean look, less spammy
  • Moderate (10-20 hashtags) - Balanced reach and aesthetics
  • Aggressive (20-30 hashtags) - Maximum discovery potential

Call-to-Action Frequency​

How often should captions include CTAs?

  • Every post - Maximum engagement push
  • Every other post - Balanced approach
  • Occasionally - Subtle, non-pushy
  • Rarely - Focus on content over engagement tactics

Advanced Settings (Pro Plans)​

Custom Prompt Templates​

Create custom prompts for image or caption generation:

Always include [brand element] in images
Caption tone should be [playful/professional/inspirational]
Avoid mentioning [specific topics]

Brand Guidelines​

Upload brand guidelines to ensure consistency:

  • Color palette restrictions
  • Required elements in images
  • Banned words or phrases
  • Tone and voice requirements

Content Approval Workflow​

Require manual approval before posting:

  • Auto-approve - Posts go live automatically
  • Review before scheduling - You approve each post before it's scheduled
  • Review before posting - Final check before it goes live

Instagram Integration Settings​

  • Auto-reply to comments - AI responds to comments (coming soon)
  • Story posting - Also create Instagram Stories
  • Reels generation - Create short-form video content
  • Carousel posts - Multi-image posts

Profile Settings​

Bio and Profile​

  • Bio text - Your character's Instagram bio (150 characters)
  • Profile link - URL in bio
  • Profile picture - Select from generated content
  • Highlights - Organize stories into highlights

Instagram Connection​

Connect your Instagram account:

  1. Click Connect Instagram
  2. Log in to Instagram
  3. Authorize Influgen
  4. Select the account to connect
  5. Confirm connection

Security note: Influgen uses official Instagram APIs and doesn't store your password.

Notification Settings​

Control what notifications you receive:

  • Content generated - Alert when new content is created
  • Post published - Notification when content goes live
  • Credits low - Warning when credits are running out
  • Errors - Alert when posting fails

Notifications can be sent via:

  • Email
  • In-app notifications
  • Push notifications (mobile app, coming soon)

Managing Settings Across Characters​

If you have multiple characters:

Copy Settings​

Copy settings from one character to another:

  1. Go to source character's settings
  2. Click Copy Settings
  3. Select destination character(s)
  4. Confirm

Bulk Edit​

Edit settings for multiple characters at once:

  1. Go to Characters overview
  2. Select multiple characters
  3. Click Bulk Edit Settings
  4. Change desired settings
  5. Apply to all selected

Settings Best Practices​

Starting Out​

  • Use moderate posting frequency (3x/week)
  • Keep Autopilot OFF until you're comfortable
  • Start with Medium caption length
  • Use Moderate emoji and hashtag strategies

Scaling Up​

  • Increase posting frequency gradually
  • Enable Autopilot once you trust the system
  • Test different settings and track performance
  • Adjust based on audience feedback

Optimization​

  • Review analytics monthly
  • Adjust posting times based on engagement
  • Refine caption length based on what performs
  • Update hashtag strategy as you grow

Troubleshooting​

Autopilot Not Working​

  • Verify Instagram connection is active
  • Check credit balance (must be positive)
  • Ensure posting frequency is set
  • Confirm character has generated content buffer

Content Not Matching Settings​

  • Settings changes apply to new content only
  • Regenerate existing content to apply new settings
  • Some settings (like language) require full regeneration

Settings Not Saving​

  • Ensure you clicked Save Changes
  • Check for error messages (e.g., invalid values)
  • Try refreshing the page
  • Clear browser cache if issue persists
